At this point a bridge used to cross the main channel of the South Fork Mills River (foreground) and land on the bank on the opposite side, left of the bridge in the center. However, it was missing when we arrived this day - washed away by floods a few weeks earlier - forcing us to take off the boots, hike up the pants and wade across.  The water was cold, about waist deep, and the bottom was very squishy!

You may want to check with the ranger station to find out if this bridge has been replaced, before taking this hike.
