This is the Old Mitchell Trail as you leave the park office. It's a steady, gradual climb on a somewhat rocky and rooty trail. The first peak you climb is cloaked with mature Fraser Firs at the summit, but toward the park office they are mostly dead and a new generation is growing to fill their place.  Right here is the transition into the mature forest.
